Preparing For Your Session

What Should You Wear?

You're the boss here!  You might have a theme in mind for something different, or you might want formal portraits or casual.  I've listed some tips below just as a guideline, but really, there are no rules! Let each individual be unique and true to their personality! Not only will it make for a more fun and relaxed photo shoot, but each of your distinct personalities will be reflected in their portraits forever!

Just a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Try to limit prints in clothing to just a few people
  • Avoid wearing items with words or advertising or very loud prints on them.
  • If choosing solid whites, try to use off-whites to reduce the glare.
  • Think comfort.
  • Layers work very well and can add dimension and color to the image.
  • On sessions 1 hour or longer, feel free to bring a few changes of clothing.

I don’t usually recommend more than one clothing change for toddlers (2 outfits total) as too much fuss with clothing can quickly change their moods!  Again, the main thing is to be yourselves and if your choices of clothing don't fall into the above "tips", then that's ok, too!

Pets and Props

  • Yes!  Pets are welcome!  After all, they are family, too and I happen to love animals.
  • Feel free to bring favorite things that you'd like to include in some of your shots.
  • As always, for questions or suggestions, call, e-mail or text me!
